How to make a paper chameleon

Chameleons are amazing lizards that can change their body color. They live in Africa and on the island of Madagascar, feeding mainly on insects. Read to your baby about this animal from a book, look at the photos and videos together. And then invite them to make their own chameleon.

You will need:

• White paper;
• pencil, eraser;
• felt-tip pens, wax crayons.

1. Fold a sheet of paper in half, and then fold each half in half again (fold the halves of the sheet as shown in the photo below).
2. Draw a chameleon with a pencil.
3. Expand the sheet. Draw the lizard so that it has a large mouth.
4. Draw teeth, a long tongue with a spiral and the chameleon's prey - a fly.
5. Invite your child to decorate the picture with crayons, after tracing the outline with felt-tip pens.

Use wax crayons for coloring in. They are easier to color with than colored pencils. Crayons apply with little pressure, so the baby's hand will not get tired, not to mention drawings are bright and beautiful in crayon.

When the paper is folded, it is simply a chameleon; and if you unfold it, the chameleon is now opening its mouth to catch a fly or a grasshopper for lunch.
