Jacaranda

5 to 8 years

Offer your kid to paint blossoming Jacaranda - he/she will surely enjoy the creative process!
Jacaranda is a genus of 49 species of flowering plants in the family Bignoniaceae, native to tropical and subtropical regions of Central America, South America, Cuba, Hispaniola, Jamaica and the Bahamas.
The tree is blossoming with amazing blue-lilac flowers (thou there are species with white and purple flowers). You'll need:

  • thick white paper;
  • gouache - black, blue, white, purple;
  • brush, jar of water;
  • palette;
  • cocktail straw;
  • cotton swab or small round foam stamp.

First of all, paint the tree trunk and thick branches with black gouache (the paint should be liquid).

Then take the cocktail straw and make thin branches - blow through the straw to splatter the paint.

When the paints dry, start painting flowers.

Add to the palette blue, purple and white paints, take the foam stamp.

Press the stamp in the paints on the palette and make round imprints on the picture - thus you'll paint cute flowers.
