Paper Figurines

You’ll be surprised how much you can do with scissors and paper. Creativity engages your little one and develops their abilities. Use these tips and templates.

3 to 5 years

Invite your toddler to play with paper figures. This will contribute to the development of your child's imagination and intellectual abilities, expanding consciousness and enriching your child's vocabulary.

You will need:

paper (white or colored);
scissors;
simple pencil;
ruler.

Cut an A4 sheet into 6-8 rectangles.
Fold one rectangle in half and cut out a symmetrical shape - a person, an animal, a plant, and so on.
Open the resulting silhouette, ask the child to guess what you cut out.
Cut out several different shapes.

There are several options for this activity. You cut out the figures and the child paints them. If you make silhouettes of vegetables and fruits (animals, insects, and so on), then you can start sorting them. You can cut out figures of people. Such crafts are suitable later for applications.

Tip: if you find it difficult to immediately cut out a figure, then first make the outline/sketch with a pencil.

Important! Don't leave your toddler alone with the scissors. Explain to them that this is not a toy, that they are sharp, they can hurt you.

Take pictures of the paper figures. Write a little about what you made.
