Prints of leaves

Prints of leaves

3 to 5 years

Don't know how to entertain your curious kid? - Offer him/her to draw fall leaves, using frottage technique.

In art, frottage (from French frotter, "to rub") is a surrealist and "automatic" method of creative production. The artist should take a pastel or pencil or other drawing tool and make a rubbing over an uneven surface. The drawing can be left as it is or used as the basis for further refinement.

Your little one will love this unique way of drawing!

Needed:

  • colored and/or white paper;
  • leaves of trees and bushes;
  • wax crayons.

Walking in the park, pick up some bright fallen leaves of various shape, size, and colors with your kid.

At home give your little one all the materials mentioned above.

Take one sheet of paper, put a leaf on it (the leaf veins should be upwards), cover it with the second sheet of paper and rub with a wax crayon.
