“Warm Mitten” Applique

“Warm Mitten” Applique

Creativity is very beneficial for a child's development. In the pre-holiday period, you can make crafts with your baby to gift relatives.

from 1 year 6 months to 3 years

Make a winter applique with your baby. This type of creative activity will be not only interesting for them to do, but also very useful - for the development of motor skills, coordination of movement, and spatial thinking.

You will need:

  • blue and white cardboard;
  • white gouache, brush or cotton swabs;
  • plasticine, modeling board;
  • decorative pom-poms;
  • scissors, glue (PVA), a simple pencil.

  1. Draw some snowflakes on blue cardboard with some white gouache. To do this, you can use a brush or cotton swabs. You can also draw snowflakes with your fingers, but after drawing, immediately wash the child's hands with warm water and soap.
  2. Cut a mitten out of the white cardboard.
  3. Ask the baby to decorate the mitten with plasticine balls. Show them how to take small pieces from plasticine and roll balls, pick up the balls with two fingers and apply them to the applique, and press down. Let your baby try this on their own.
  4. Glue the mitten onto a piece of blue cardboard.
  5. Decorate the mitten with colored decorative pom-poms (can be attached with glue).
