Words beginning with the letter...

On a long trip ask your kid to play this lexical game called "Words beginning with the letter...".

Word games are perfect for developing mental skills and improving your kid's vocabulary...  and is just a lot of fun at the same time!

To arrange the activity you need:

• sheets of paper;
• pens.

First, draw a table on the sheet of paper, name the columns according to your kid's knowledge (eg. Cities, Plants, Animal, Transport, Rivers, Cartoon characters, Fairy tale, etc.).

Make the same table for each of the players.

Then choose the letter to start with - for example, it can be "A". Write in the table's columns the appropriate words beginning with the letter "A".

When one of the players finishes the task, he/she says "Stop!", and everyone has to stop writing.

Read the words you've written one by one, count the scores as follows:

• if a player invents an appropriate word, he/she gets 10 points;
• if two or more players invent one and the same word, each of them gets 5 points;
• if a player fails to invent a word, he/she gets 0 points.

Count the points and choose another letter to continue.
