Say "No" to your baby

5 months

Your baby is growing up and starting to explore the world around!

He/she grabs various objects, puts them into their mouth, pokes the adults' eyes and nose with finger and pulls their hair - all these are peculiar markers of the little one's fine motor skills, sensory skills, tactile skills and the first communicative skills development.

Say "No" to your baby - when he/she tries to take dangerous things or his/her actions cause pain, just withdraw gently from the little hand on face or hair and pronounce the word "No".

When your baby is trying to grab something undesirable, take the object away and attract the little one's attention to another interesting thing or toy - for example, to a shampoo bottle or a rustling bag.

At this stage, use the word "No" to ensure his/her safety and to show how to communicate with others.

Getting older, your little one will start to understand why it is forbidden to touch a glass vase or to pull a cat's tail. But now he/she is too little, and you should entertain the baby with safe and interesting activities.

Make photos with your cute baby. Write when you say "No" to the little one and how he/she reacts to it.
